The Role  

Lead and provide strategic and thought leadership in the delivery of major infrastructure projects. This role involves managing a diverse team of stream leads encompassing areas such as DC Design, Property, IT, Replenishment, Commercial, Network Design, Business Readiness, Change and Communications, Legal, and external suppliers. 

Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the entire lifecycle of project delivery, from design through build to commissioning, ensuring the realisation of project benefits. 

This role will specifically support a critical area of the business across New South Wales (NSW), overseeing a project scheduled for completion over a three-year period. With a substantial customer base to serve, you will lead a team charged with delivering impactful infrastructure projects that significantly enhance and shape operational capabilities.  

The company navigates the intricacies of logistics and delivery, ensuring a streamlined and hassle-free experience for customers throughout the growing region. 

Key Responsibilities but not limited to are as follows.  

  • Lead project ownership and manage all phases, from project mobilisation and detailed design through construction to operational delivery. 
  • Evaluate and scrutinise decisions and proposed directions of project streams to ensure robust decision-making. 
  • Communicate progress, risks, issues, and financial updates effectively across various departmental and cross-divisional forums. 
  • Maintain correct governance and assurance, adhering to the management framework. 
  • Ensure all program streams have current and baselined charters, plans, issues, and risks registers. 
  • Effectively manage the financial status and cost of the program. 
  • Demonstrate strong leadership within the project delivery team working on the program. 
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of the program’s design, operations, and financial outcomes. 
  • Deliver high-quality and reliable communications to build credibility with business stakeholders and customers. 
  • Develop and implement a stakeholder management plan and communication framework. 
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for project information. 
  • Establish efficient working relationships and processes with key customers and internal suppliers. 
  • Obtain signoff and sponsorship from all key stakeholders. 
  • Implement and execute the stakeholder management plan and communication framework. 
  • Proactively address resistance and secure commitment to achieve desired outcomes effectively.Top of Form 

You 

  • Advanced understanding and experience of the development, construction, and operational readiness aspects associated with large-scale warehousing or distribution facilities and DC Design 
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple teams concurrently. 
  • Proficiency in utilizing project management methodologies and tools. 
  • Skilled in identifying and mitigating risks associated with project delivery. 
  • Holds appropriate qualifications in Project Management fundamentals or possesses a suitable equivalent technical degree. 
  • Experience with automation in one or more areas, including design, implementation, operations, or support. 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, demonstrated in both written and verbal formats. 
  • Extensive experience in delivering supply chain projects within the FMCG & Retail Sector. 
  • Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement and leading behavioral and cultural change initiatives. 
  • Expertise in managing teams through significant change implementation processes.
