The Role  

Lead and provide strategic and thought leadership in the delivery of major infrastructure projects. This role involves managing a diverse team of stream leads encompassing areas such as DC Design, Property, IT, Replenishment, Commercial, Network Design, Business Readiness, Change and Communications, Legal, and external suppliers. 

Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the entire lifecycle of project delivery, from design through build to commissioning, ensuring the realisation of project benefits. 

This role will specifically support a critical area of the business across New South Wales (NSW), overseeing a project scheduled for completion over a three-year period. With a substantial customer base to serve, you will lead a team charged with delivering impactful infrastructure projects that significantly enhance and shape operational capabilities.  

The company navigates the intricacies of logistics and delivery, ensuring a streamlined and hassle-free experience for customers throughout the growing region. 

Key Responsibilities but not limited to are as follows.  

  • Lead and manage projects through all phases, from mobilisation, detailed design, and construction to operational delivery 
  • Challenge and pressure-test decisions and propose directions of project streams to ensure sound decision-making. 
  • Report progress, risks, issues, and financial updates through various departmental and cross-divisional forums. 
  • Ensure correct governance and assurance is maintained, complying with the company project management framework. 
  • Ensure all streams of the program have up-to-date and baselined charters, plans, issues, and risks registers. 
  • Manage the financial status and cost management of the program effectively. 
  • Demonstrate strong leadership within the project delivery team working on the program. 
  • Possess detailed knowledge of the design, operations, and financial outcomes of the program. 

You 

  • Advanced understanding and experience of the development, construction, and operational readiness aspects associated with large-scale warehousing or distribution facilities and DC Design 
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple teams concurrently. 
  • Proficiency in utilizing project management methodologies and tools. 
  • Skilled in identifying and mitigating risks associated with project delivery. 
  • Holds appropriate qualifications in Project Management fundamentals or possesses a suitable equivalent technical degree. 
  • Experience with automation in one or more areas, including design, implementation, operations, or support. 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, demonstrated in both written and verbal formats. 
  • Extensive experience in delivering supply chain projects within the FMCG & Retail Sector. 
  • Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement and leading behavioral and cultural change initiatives. 
  • Expertise in managing teams through significant change implementation processes. 
  • 3 years of Supply Chain project delivery experience within FMCG
