Our client, a large cold storage provider with a vast network of offices across Australia, is looking for a critical member to join their team. We are in search of a strong, data-oriented leader.
Your role involves supervising the day-to-day operations of the cold storage facility, ensuring its efficient, cost-effective operation, maintenance, and improvement of all services offered by the asset.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the supervision of repairs and preventative maintenance schedule/program for equipment within a temperature-controlled food storage facility.
- Perform necessary minor repairs and maintenance tasks within the facility as needed.
- Conduct the induction, coordination, and supervision of contractors engaged in specialist repairs and maintenance at the facility.
- Support the site management team by facilitating capital works/major projects.
- Create and execute strategies to enhance site safety and establish optimal practices by implementing standard operating procedures.
- Fulfill and deliver hazard and incident reporting forms to the OH&S team within specified deadlines and communicate any instances of lost time injuries.
- Organise and carry out safety audits, aid in investigating incidents to identify root causes, and support the implementation of corrective measures as required.
- Maintain records and disseminate pertinent safety communications such as monthly safety packs and company-issued safety alerts.
- Coordinate and execute risk assessments while implementing necessary risk mitigation measures.
- Guarantee the enforcement and adherence to standard contract management processes.
- Work closely and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the team.
- Monitor and identify sales trends and analysis of sales forecasts with a focus on increasing profitability.
- Contribute to the business financial performance through labour management, profitable sales, inventory management, and expenses.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- General knowledge across facilities, maintenance, and trades (refrigeration would be advantageous).
- Demonstrated leadership strength.
- Strong ability to collaborate cross-functional.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and time management.
- Proficiency in navigating complex challenges and making decisive choices amidst pressure, supported by a steadfast work ethic.
- Proficiency in ensuring that staff comprehensively grasp and adhere to the prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Advanced knowledge of HACCP, OH&S regulations, and cold storage principles.
- Strong computer literacy.
- strong experience in using hazard and incident reporting systems.
- Qualification in a relevant industry trade of 3+ years would be an advantage.
