Materials Planner/Purchasing Officer

Job Overview

Our client, who are a market leader in the manufacturing of packaging, is looking for a Materials Planner/Purchasing Officer to join their team. Initially a contract based role with the opportunity to lead to a permanent contract. The successful candidate will coordinate, manage, direct & indirect materials & support related activities for all production requirements.

Key accountabilities include:
• Purchase and coordinate direct & indirect materials.
• Raising orders and liaising with suppliers & invoicing approval.
• Managing the level of stock and reporting on stock turnover.
• Reporting on aged stock monthly & EOM reconciliation.
• Manage to outsource when required.
• Daily alignment of material requirements to the planned production schedule via MRP
• Manage running out of materials and change over to alternatives
• Having Raw materials available to meet the S&OP plan via MRP
• Escalation of raw material supply issues which are likely to have an impact on production & finished goods output.
• Management of supplier reviews & ensuring SLAs are consistently met
• Supplier DIFOT & Reporting back to the business.

• 6 Month Contract leading to permanent opportunity

Key Performance Indicators:
• Meet demand plan.
• Accuracy of reports.
• On-time reporting
• Shipping documents checked against the actual purchase order.
• No stockouts
• DIFOT 99.5%
• +/- 7 days for imported raw material
• Accuracy of stock movements.
• Optimisation of board sizes.
• Inventory turns
