Maintenance Fitter

Job Overview

Reporting to the Maintenance lead, this position is responsible for carrying out mechanical tasks to ensure all plant equipment remains in optimal working condition.

You will be responsible for tasks such as installation, monitoring, machine setup, site preventative maintenance, adjustments, breakdown repairs, and the continuous improvement of site production machinery.

Your main functions will include:

  • Follow the scheduled maintenance plan to ensure that machinery, equipment, and facilities are maintained.
  • Oversee preventative & reactive maintenance requests.
  • Maintain cleanliness and uphold sanitation standards in the work area, including regular equipment maintenance.
  • Record and complete all tasks in the maintenance system as outlined in the work schedule.
  • Reporting of incidents promptly and participate in analysis and investigations.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships with the Operational teams.
  • Perform all fitting and assembly-related activities to the required quality.
  • Prepare equipment for inspection, load-out, clean, and refurbishment.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient workshop environment.
  • Perform welding on all materials.
  • Assembly/overhaul of mechanical parts and equipment
  • Complying with relevant OHS/WHS legislation.

Qualification requirements

  • Australian recognised trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter is essential.
  • Knowledge and understanding of SAP systems is desirable.
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Current manual driver’s license
  • Experience within the heavy machinery industry.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced work environment.
